Catherine Pawasarat
We can argue that all our activity in the world begins with our interior states: when we are coming from a more integrated mind- and heart-state – self-awareness – our actions in the world will also be more integrated. We can call this inner sustainability, or sustainable mindstates. AkasaVision Consulting is the vehicle for Catherine and clients to leverage growing inner sustainability as a tool to better catalyze social entrepreneurship and social change. Inversely it’s also a medium for holistic and wellness organizations to introduce more sustainability and social entrepreneurship into their operations.
Catherine teaches universal principles and practices of spiritual unfoldment – inner sustainability – with her partner Acariya Doug Duncan through PlanetDharma. She’s
a co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer for the Clear Sky Retreat Centre in southeastern British Columbia. There she’s helped leverage the retreat centre’s core program of self-awareness to develop an innovative hub for sustainability and community-building work, winning a national profile within a decade of it’s founding. In addition, decades of research on Kyoto, Japan’s extraordinary, 1100-year old Gion Festival gave birth to GionFestival.org. It’s the first English-language publication to comprehensively pull back the silk curtain on this extraordinary bonanza of spiritual and cultural wealth, focusing on maintaining its sustainability for centuries to come.
Catherine’s favorite way to collaborate is with self-motivated peers who check in to support, inspire and spur one another on to new heights of creative excellence. She also enjoys collaborating in groups, either supporting or facilitating the emergence of groups’ awesome collective genius. Being a part of any team committed to service and creative innovation keeps her inspired to dig in and transform challenges into breakthroughs.
She combines decades of extensive international travel, work and residence in several countries, and fluency in several languages with experience in developing local assets and capacity for true talents in thinking globally and living locally.

AkasaVision Consulting
“Akasa” is a Sanskrit word that translates literally to “sky.” The Encyclopedia of Asian Civilization reveals more about the akasa: “In Hindu philosophy, space, ether, and often emptiness (of space), the essence of the Eternal, the Uncreated.”
All our best ways forward await us in their potential forms, waiting to be co-created by us out of this original space. Being aware of the environment and people around us helps us to be freed from our habitual fixations and actually observe and learn from what’s in front of us. Being visionary simply means being able to see.
AkasaVision Consulting was born from this philosophical firmament. When we live and work from a place of spaciousness, we’re able to remain open to the solutions that are naturally emerging moment-to-moment, as described by Margaret Wheatley’s Theory of Emergence, for example. AkasaVision Consulting is here to serve you, to assist in seeing and implementing the solutions that are awaiting our discovery.
“Catherine in the only person I know that can quote the wisdom of the Buddha and business savvy of Steve Jobs in one breath and demonstrate through her personal experience that a healthy dose of each will bring great success.”
